Moorland magic
Situated in the Exmoor hamlet of Draydon, 2 miles from Dulverton, Byre Cottage is a single storey terraced barn conversion in a small group of similar properties. It enjoys a small terraced area, an elevated private garden (unfenced) as well as a communal fenced picnic area. The entrance to Byre Cottage is around the back of the other barns, with its private garden, where you can dine out or enjoy a table top barbecue whilst enjoying views across the Barle Valley, up steps to the left. The cottage can comfortably accommodate 2 guests and up to 3 well-behaved dogs (at additional cost). The property is not suitable for children.
Situated within Exmoor National Park (a Dark Night Skies Reserve), guests at Byre Cottage may encounter deer, ponies, hares, birds and other wildlife in the immediate vicinity, as well as beautiful flowers and plants. The open moor is at the top of the road, whilst the river Barle is at the bottom of the valley. Tarr Steps are a short distance away, and there are ample opportunities for enjoying the area on foot, by bike, or on horseback.
The market town of Dulverton is 2 miles away and offers a co-op store, and a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as a fish and chip shop.
Further afield you may want to explore the wooded valley and moorland of Exmoor and the Lorna Doone Valley, whilst along the North Devon coastline are the attractions of Lynton and Lynmouth and the surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton.
